RPS launches 2026 Workforce Wellbeing Survey

The Royal Pharmaceutical Society has launched its 2026 Workforce Wellbeing Survey in partnership with Pharmacist Support, the British Pharmaceutical Students’ Association (BPSA) and the Pharmacy Schools Council (PhSC).

The focus of this year’s survey is on pharmacy students, foundation trainees and early career pharmacists, aiming to better understand their mental health, wellbeing and expectations of workplace support.

There are two surveys - one for students and the other for Foundation trainees and early career pharmacists. Both are open until 5pm on 2 December.

Since 2019, RPS and Pharmacist Support have collaborated to explore the impact of workplace culture on pharmacy teams. Insights from previous surveys have shaped RPS wellbeing programmes and resources, and informed Pharmacist Support initiatives such as ACTnow, counselling services and leadership training.

This year the BPSA and PhSC are supporting the survey to explore the experiences of students and early career pharmacists. The student survey explores wellbeing, study experiences and expectations of workplace support. The trainee and early career pharmacist survey focuses on workplace conditions, mental health and support needs during early career stages.

The RPS says the survey responses will help all partners:

  • Understand current wellbeing, study and workplace experiences
  • Identify barriers and enablers to progression and job satisfaction
  • Shape targeted wellbeing resources, services, and advocacy.

Cate Whittlesea of the Pharmacy Schools Council said: ''We are pleased that pharmacy students, foundation trainee and early career pharmacists are the focus of the 2025 survey. Their views on wellbeing, study experiences and workplace support will provide further insight into current provision and identify where additional support is required at this point in their pharmacy career."
